First post... (And introduction)
After a long time deliberating whether I should have a blog or not, I have finally decided to have one. Hopefully this blog will be a record of highs & lows, and items of interest over a period of time, and an experiment in the evolution of one's writing style. (Boy that sounds like something you'd write on a self evaluation form).
Anyway, enough rambling, and on to the (short) introduction:I'm Jason, 22 and I live in Sydney. I go to Sydney Uni & I do a Bachelor of Science/Commerce there. I am also a Christian, and help out with the EU on campus. (But most people reading this already should know me, so that was a bit redundant)
Why Publican?
Back in the days when I was on IRC a lot, I had a nick of Barman (think The Simpsons). Unfortunately, someone else had that name and to avoid confusion, I changed my nick & Publican sounded good. Then again, anything beats J-Mo (trust me).
What I did over the weekend
What better then what I did over the weekend to start off my blogging. After an accounting mid semester on Friday (why they have it on the last day before the break, I don't know) , it was time for a week's break. Before that, though, there was a study day for year 12s in which I was cooking, so it was a fun time buying food & drink to feed people. The day itself was a bit disappointing, with only a handful turning up, but we all helped as best we could. In addition to buying, I was in charge of cooking, which meant that I cooked sausages (which was fun) and cut onions (4kilos worth, not so fun, but I managed to cut the lot.) :). A natural consequence of the low turnout was the leftovers (1 large catering tray worth of sausages & a smaller catering tray of onions). Fortunately there was a missions night on, so the leftovers went there.
After cooking and packing up, it was time for the AFL grand final - *grumble* - Port....
On a brighter note, England was defeated by the West Indies in the ICC Champions Trophy.
The WIns could do with a boost in morale, as their cricket team has been going ordinarily in the past few years, and the whole area has felt the wrath of the line of hurricanes tearing through the area over the past few weeks. In addition, it's always nice to see England lose. :)
That pretty much wraps up my first post. Hopefully, it'll be updated on a regular basis.
Comments welcome.
