What a night

The Swans are in another grand final.
After a lot of toing & froing, I bought a ticket for the final the day before the final, and was lucky enough to snare a front row ticket on the second teir. Despite what the bookies were saying, I was wary of Fremantle, as they have the tallest player in the AFL, and could be dangerous if he had his fair share of hitouts.

The first 3 quarters of the match were close, with the Swans squandering some golden chances early on, and Fremantle managing late goals in the first and second quarters to keep the score close. However, late in the third quarter after Freo managed to claw back to a 7 point deficit, Sydney managed 2 late goals, and Freo were done.

In the 4th quarter, there was an amusing incident. After a Sydney goal was dribbled through, the ball took an off break and hit the goal umpire flush in the face. The crowd had a laugh, and the umpire looked flustered and embarrassed.

The crowd at the game were a sea of red and white, and the roar of the crowd whenever a Swans goal was kicked was phenominal, with the victory song sung at the end of the game causing the section where I was sitting to wobble a bit.

Meanwhile, Australia manged to defend 213, and the Canterbury Bulldogs threw away a 20-6 lead to lose 37-20. Oh well, 2 out of 3 aint bad.

In other news, my Tax exam is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I feel that I understand the material, but the way the course is set up, there's always a sneaking suspicion in the back of my mind that they will ask all the tricky items in the course all at once, so you never feel prepared.

Also, I now work for a German company, after being taken over by them. I for one welcome our new German overlords.
