So long, farewell
When my alarm went off yesterday, I heard a very interesting interview with the principal of my old high school. It turns out that he's retiring after around 15 years, and 11 years at number 1 there. While that's not too surprising, what was surprising was that 92% of students came from a non english speaking background. Based on the ads I have seen in various asian newspapers, it seems that over 105% of students are Asian, and they all attend external classes.
It will be interesting to see what the future direction will be after the retirement, and whether the school will change much. I suspect not, at least not in the near future, and not while some outside agencies ensure a self fulfiling perpetual prophecy through advertising the number of students they manage to both get into schools, and to get 100 UAIs
In other news, you know it's the off season on TV when they show such high class shows as this.
