Japan trip day 6: Tokyo-Narita

As mentioned yesterday, I transferred to Narita, for an easier getaway tomorrow, as the flight leaves at 9:30am.
The journey between hotels was straightforward, but dragged on a bit, with 2 subways & a train. Upon arriving at the airport hotel around noon, I was given a top floor room with an airport view, which I can’t complain about.
One thing about the hotel is its location – next to the airport. This means that getting there takes the best part of 5 minutes, but is also in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, I didn’t have to sit in the hotel room all afternoon, as the hotel provided a shuttle bus into Narita town, as well as the local shopping centre.
I was in luck, as there was a music festival on in town, where they had streetside food stalls and music (traditional & modern) playing. Narita also has a temple, but since I’m not into temples, took a photo & moved on.
After soaking up the atmosphere for a while, I headed to the other main attraction in the area; the shopping centre.
The Aeon Jusco shopping centre has grown since my last visit, and now has a large sports store. Before I left, I was given a shopping list, and was relieved that I managed to find everything on the list at the shopping centre, so there shouldn’t be any disappointed people. I also managed to pick up dinner as well as tomorrow’s breakfast, all for less then the hotel buffet price, which I thought was very impressive.
After all that shopping, it was time to return to the hotel, watch planes take off/land and pack for the trip back home.
Tomorrow, Tokyo-Singapore-Sydney (via Bangkok), & back to normality for another few months (at least).
