Japan trip day 7: Tokyo-Sydney, the long-ish way
A long travel day today. Arrived at the airport at 7:15am and was checked in by 7:30 for the flight, which was leaving at 9:25. As the Japanese love to observe planes, there was a large observation deck, which was a good way to spend half an hour.
The flight was uneventful, with a transit in Bangkok.
Bangkok airport had high ceilings, and was bright and sunny inside, but I found it very sterile.
Another transit in Singapore, and there was enough time for a shower, email checking and a spot of duty free shopping before the onward flight back home.
The flight to Sydney was packed, and that meant that dinner would take ages, which it did. We took off around 11pm Sydney time, had dinner around midnight, and had the trays collected around 1:30am. By then, there was only ~4.5 hrs left in the flight, which made any decent sleep difficult. Despite that, I managed to sleep until landing at 6am.
Immigration was quick, but baggage claim took 20 minutes, and I was on the way to work via home at 6:35. However, I would not recommend going to work straight after getting off a flight. If I have time, i'll post some random observations on the trip.
