Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith

After putting if off for ages, I finally saw it yesterday. After hearing other people's thoughts, I thought it was something similar to this episode of The Simpsons, where this bit of dialogue comes from:
Bart: Amendments? Regulatory agencies? What the farkbutt?!?!
Lisa: Don't worry. They're just getting the plot out of the way so it won't slow down the *shooting noises*, *lightsaber noises*, *Chewbacca noises*.
Interestingly, it seems that this page contains the full movie script.
Seriously, the movie wasn't bad at setting the scene for episode 4, but I personally would have liked an episode 3.5, where the intervening time is filled in, but you can't have it all :)

The Ashes

They start tonight. Go Australia.

Who would have thought - an Aussie winning the WSOP...

Anyway, a few comments about last night:

• Maybe it's just me, but when an invite says a particular time, I expect people to be there by then. (Hmmm....... It's probably just me)
• The DJ/MC wouldn't sound out of place in a cockpit.
• The dinner was pretty good, although the choice of 2 seafood entrees was interesting.
• I read too many cookbooks.
• Swing music/crooners during dinner. Impressive.
• The speeches seemed to be an attempt at Amateur Night at the Apollo, and for the most part got the crowd laughing
• Peter... *shakes head*
• "I love you better than ice cream"?!?!?!?
• I'm not too sure that "The special two" by Missy Higgins was the best song to play immediately after the first waltz, as i'm fairly sure that the song is more of a "let's get back together" song rather than a "we'll love each other forever" song (for want of a better description), but who am I to say :)

All in all, an enjoyable night, and congratulations to Drew, Nadine & their parents.
